GPWA Times Magazine - Issue 47 - July 2020

It was 14 years ago this month that we signed a purchase and sale agreement and took over management of the GPWA. Since that day, the iGaming industry has changed in many ways and we’ve certainly experienced our share of highs and lows. But as we present this 47 th edition of the GPWA Times Magazine , the world is going through a period like we’ve never seen before with a global pandemic afflicting every industry and business on the planet. As for iGaming affiliates, we have been forced to adjust and adapt, some more than others. There has been no clear road map or instruc- tion manual to guide us through this ordeal because we’re navigating through unchartered waters. But as a community we have banded together and leaned on each other. That’s what the GPWA is all about and it’s the main reason why I wanted to take over the helm and steer this ship 14 years ago. With that said, this new issue does indeed have a COVID-19 theme to it. Our cover story, written by Andrew Parker from Blueclaw Media, explains what webmasters should be doing from a content and SEO standpoint in response to the pandemic. Regular contributor Lee-Ann Johnstone writes that despite a rocky ride the last few months, there is great reason for optimism for those of us in the affiliate marketing space. In our continuing series of affiliate and affiliate manager interviews, we hear the stories of some grizzled industry veterans and ask how they’re dealing with this whole new world we live in. You’ll also find the regular gamut of fea- tures, including more rankings from, a new inductee to the APCWWall of Shame, reasons why block- chain technology should be embraced more by our industry than it already has, and a much-needed pictorial look back at the good times we shared at iGB Affiliate London in February. In closing, we wish all of our members and readers good health. We truly hope your personal and professional lives are getting back to some sense of normalcy as you re- ceive this issue. While we’re uncertain as to when we will all be able to gather together again at a live conference, we look forward to that day, and hope that it happens rela- tively soon.
