It represents the beginning of a new yearly journey through the poker affiliate industry. It’s a time to plan new promo- tions, Web sites and ideas. Likewise the beginning of the year is a great time to analyze what worked and what did not during theprevious year. 2010 presents a whole new set of chal- lenges to poker affiliates, especially new poker affiliates. Back in the beginning of poker affiliate marketing, it was easy to enter the industry and to turn a profit in no time. Now, however, the competition intensifies every year, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to fast-track your success as apoker affiliate. Inorder toachievesuccessasanewpoker affiliate in the coming year, youwill need to thinkoutside thebox, andbewilling to put in a lot of hours. It would be impos- sible to give a blueprint for becoming a successful poker affiliate in just one ar- ticle, but thebest advice Iwouldgive is to learn from others and surround yourself withother successful poker affiliates. The bestway toaccomplish this isbybeingac- tive in industry forums such as PAL and GPWA.Thesecommunitiesare filledwith awealthof information fornewaffiliates. Iwould suggest every new affiliate spend a few weeks in these forums just learn- ing and absorbing information. Likewise, reach out to some of the seasoned affili- atesandstartadialogue.You’dbeamazed at howmany superaffiliates arewilling to mentor and help out new affiliates com- ing into the industry. All you have to do is ask! But to get you jump-started with affili- ate tips right here, right now, wewent to some of the most knowledgeable poker affiliates andPALmembers in the indus- try and asked for their words of wisdom. Here iswhat theyhad to say: “Pick a small niche and aim to dominate it before startinganyotherprojects.” –MJ “Haveanetworkof affiliates to relyon for help – people who can push you in the rightdirection–andmakesureyourhard work is going towards something profit- able.” –Addz123 “Don’t expect to earn anymoney the first fewmonths; you reallyhave tobepatient. Workhard like in anyother business and you can succeed.” –Newjabber Read everything you can get your hands on. Every day I am approached by new affiliates. Many of them have gone out and boughtWeb sites that they don’t un- derstand. They don’t know how to make a link, or what towrite on their new site. They’reperfectly clueless,withnothingon theirWeb sitebut a link toapoker room.
