It’s just that Google does not see any particular reason why these kinds of pages should rank in Google search. The fact that Google considers that these pages should not rank in search does not necessarily mean that the respective pages are of low quality. It can still consider them great supplementary content for visitors who come from other search terms to other pages or for your existing visitors, but just not something that would be relevant for someone performing a Google search. It’s like when a website has a forum. Sure, the forum is great content that engages users and offers them a lot of value; it just might not be relevant for anyone doing a Google search, and therefore it is demoted. Or /tag/ pages. They have their use on a website and you should most definitely have them if you have a lot of posts. They’re just not something you would want to see in Google search, though. “ Reply With Quote #40 JohnA Public Member Originally Posted by mla0712 Agree on that. They might, or Google might give an exception to Web shop pages or certain Web shops under the premise that those pages are relevant to people who search for stuff like “buy iPhone 5,” etc. While you could argue that the same pages would be relevant for people searching for betting picks, etc., the niche might be too small to give Google a reason to give them special treatment. On the other hand, there was an update on June 19. If what happened to you happened around that time, you should maybe look into it. Some seem to believe it’s related to newsworthy content receiving a boost. So, one part of that new update might be to demote time-sensitive content that might have lost relevance due to it having happened far in the past. “ Reply With Quote #39 mla0712 Public Member Agree on that.
