GPWA Times Magazine - Issue 38 - July 2017

years ago was challenging, and coding it was even more challenging, but we wanted specific things for affiliates – be- ing an affiliate and dealing with a normal WordPress theme, especially as a starter, is very time-consuming. Between the theme and plugin, you can cut your build time significantly. I have some ideas for other WordPress gambling themes that I would like to design and build. What makes your site unique? How does it stand out from the competition? IMRE: There are only a handful of Word- Press theme and plugin providers for this specific market, and most of them are very outdated in terms of design. We think our WordPress themes can create a slick look for any affiliate site, and the VegasHero affiliate plugin boasting 1,600+ demo games is a totally unique offering right now. There is no similar product available at the moment that can add such a selection of demo slots in a couple of clicks. NEIL: From a design point of view I stay on top of things; you can see this from the design of our site. I update every year or two as soon as I see things looking dated. I’m just pedantic about it. Our products are always going to stay one step ahead; the technology behind our distribution is fantastic. Customers won’t get better – we can guarantee it! How do you decide what games and brands to promote? IMRE: The providers are often requested by our customers. We try to integrate with the major providers first, and occasionally the providers themselves approach us for a partnership. How is working with affiliates as your customers different fromhaving players? IMRE: It is very different. As an affiliate marketer, we very rarely had contact with the actual casino players. As a product owner who serves affiliates with software solutions, you are facedwith very demand- ing customers. The quality of the products and support needs to be top notch – after all, they purchase VegasHero products to make money with them. Do you gamble? IMRE: Not really. I understand who wins at the end of the day, and I like to be on the profitable side. NEIL: I don’t, either. I do on the live slot machines, but I’m not heavy into it. How often do you get to see and inter- act with other people in the industry? IMRE: I’m in daily contact with affiliates via Skype and e-mail, and have been to a couple of conferences like AAC and BAC where I met some of the online contacts face to face. What traits do you look for in an af- filiate manager? How about in an af- filiate program? IMRE: I appreciate integrity and timely re- sponses. An affiliate program should have proactive communication about changes, prompt and precise payments, and up- to-date technical possibilities for linking, tracking and reporting. What’s your preferred method of com- munication with affiliate managers? IMRE: E-mail and Skype. What prompted you to join the GPWA? How has it helped you? IMRE: It’s a great place to network and to read about current events in gambling. It helped me reach out to fellow affiliates when we needed advice and feedback about our products. NEIL: It’s the best place for me to source knowledge on questions gambling-related. The GPWA community is great; I rarely see conflict. What do you like about the industry? IMRE: The best thing about it is that I get to meet people with a similar mindset to mine. There are many web entrepreneurs working as affiliates who are working their butts off to get the time and financial free- dom that can ultimately liberate one from the 9-to-5 rat race. NEIL: For me, I love the opportunity. It’s still a fairly new industry – online specif- ically – and what we can bring to it makes it exciting. GPWA Affiliate Interview Series It was a total pain to add just 10 games to the site. For me, it was a new experience, and I thought to myself, “This can’t be the way to source iframe URLs!” What Imre supplied me with from an operator was mind- blowing – most of the URLs didn’t work! —Neil 56 w w w . g p w a t i m e s . o r g
