GPWA TIMES | Affiliate Manager Interview Series 38 Useful pointers from 3 outstanding pros Affiliate Managers worth their salt will do whatever it takes to make you successful, and the 3 AMs we interviewed for this issue, from Timeless Poker, Paddy Power, and PlayShare, are among the best. Read what they have to say,* and then see what they can do for you! Jason Marsh | Timeless Poker Please tell us a little bit about Timeless Poker. Where did this unique name come from? What does it mean? The name was thought up by the owner’s wife, and I am sure anyone who has been or is married knows that you should never argue with a married woman, she is just always right! What differentiates Timeless Poker from other online poker rooms? Well, our room is very new and we are part of a new net- work. Our af- filiate program is unique in its own right, we offer a lot of flexibility to our affiliates, and we offer 50% commission for life + commission cashout at any time of the month and a few other great features and bonuses. What does Timeless Poker do to help ensure players con- vert? We manually give rake- back of 25% to players on a weekly basis and we send out our weekly reminders of the up and coming week’s tour- naments, freerolls and buy-in tournaments. Please describe your revenue share scheme. We offer 50% commission to all affiliates for the lifetime of the players they bring in, and to ensure that the players keep playing we give free cash on a weekly basis based on the activity of a player in the form of rakeback or just a minimum of $10. What security steps has Time- less Poker taken to ensure that fair play is occurring? We get audited by the lottery and gaming authority of Malta, and we adhere strictly to their re- quirements. What are your three keys to success for an affiliate? Well, you can never have enough knowledge about the market you’re advertising in, or on great SEO tactics or the best places to advertise in, but most important what I think any affiliate should look for is the best support and conversion strategies for their players. What’s the key to building suc- cessful relationships between affiliates and affiliate pro- grams? In our case I would say SUPPORT. Even though we are a very small brand, you could ask any of our af- filiates if we offer the quick- est response time. Anything I am uncertain of, I will respond within 24 hours. What songs are currently on your iPod (or mp3 player)? I prefer playing on my psp, that’s if I have time left after the four hours’ sleep I get ev- ery day. What’s the last book you read? What did you like about it? “The GPWA Magazine.” Thick books are not my thing, and I love the articles they run about other affiliate managers. What’s your favoritemovie and why? “John Q” – it’s a very touching story. How did you get started in this business? Really by chance — I got hired by a company based in Cape Town that was doing marketing for another brand, and the rest is history. What’s the first concert you attended in person? Tevin Campbell – “Well, my girl was paying.” What’s your favorite board game? Checkers. If you were casting a movie in which you played the lead role, who would you pick to play your romantic interest? Eva Longoria Parker. “Get four hours of sleep every night.” *Due to space constraints, we could not print the interviews in their entirety. We will post the complete text on their profile pages at GPWA.org.
