CHOOSING A NICHE Going back to the advice I was given, I’d advise choosing something that you’re interested in and would enjoy spending a lot of your time on. After a lot of re- search, I decided that my niche would be everything to do with live casino and live dealers. I chose this because I’m a player, I understand table games and I play regularly in land-based casinos. This niche would also give me further opportunities in the future, should I want to specialize even more. I decided that I wanted my website to become the go-to resource for informa- tion about live casinos. That gave me a purpose and a target to aim for. WHAT I’VE DONE TO DEVELOP MY SITE Like most affiliates, I’ve been build- ing my site out with unique content and trying to make it an authority in the industry. I’ve been at this for more than four years now, and I’d like to think I know an awful lot about live casino solutions and live dealer games. My strategy has been threefold: • To create unique and interesting content, in addition to normal reviews. • To really understand the product that I’m promoting. • To be visible to both players and solution providers. I’ve had tomake a real effort tomeet people, and I’ve been able to travel the world visiting suppliers and their live casino studios. This has enabledme to provide information and insights that no one else currently has. I’ve discovered it’s not just players that benefit from the information I provide. The niche bit is important . It’s given me the opportunity to build a business in a very competitive industry . I’m carving out my own particular path , and I’ve been able to make a living because it’s less trodden than other, more general topics . Photo by Andrey Burmakin/Shutterstock 43 W W W .
