GPWA Times Magazine - Issue 44 - July 2019

Illustration by doddis77/Shutterstock Back in May, we here at the GPWA were treated to a rarity: The casino gaming industry actually came to us in Boston. Yes, after decades of traveling the world to faraway locations such as London, Amsterdam, Las Vegas, Malta and Lisbon, it was a nice change of pace to see our iGaming friends visit our hometown and set up shop for ICE North America, which was held at the Boston Convention Center, a short 10 miles from GPWA’s headquarters. Hopefully those of you who attended not only had a fun and productive time at the con- ference, but also had the chance to explore our great city (despite the miserable spring weather we suffered that week!). If not, our own Clare Fitzgerald has you covered in this issue as she provides a complete recap of ICE North America after she roamed the floor for two full days and sat in on multiple sessions. Speaking of industry events, this issue also features our annual pictorial of the London Af- filiate Conference and ICE London – where, once again, the always risqué Fire & Ice Party did not disappoint, as you’ll see in the photo gallery on page 14. Elsewhere in this, our 44 th issue, regular con- tributor Lorien Pilling from Global Betting and Gaming Consultants explains why affil- iates need to think long-term and continue to prove their worth to operators in these evolving times. Longtime GPWA member Dan Horvat presents 10 WordPress plugins that you need in your website’s arsenal, if you don’t have them already. Additionally, we present a pair of compelling affiliate in- terviews and two affiliate manager interviews, along with our regular departments, includ- ing the GPWA Poll, From the Forums and another distinguished inductee to the APCW Wall of Shame. This issue is being distributed in the capital city of the Netherlands at iGB Live! and iGB Affiliate Amsterdam. Of course, the GPWA will be present and accounted for at iGB Live! and iGB Affil- iate Amsterdam, so we hope you’ll stop by our stand and say hello.
