GPWA Times Magazine - Issue 45 - October 2019

As we put a wrap on our 13 th year of publishing the GPWATimesMagazine , I can’t help but look back and reflect on what a wild ride it’s been. So much has transpired within the iGaming affiliate industry since that first issue with Bet- fred owner Fred Done on the cover, back in May 2007. Like most of you reading this mag- azine, over the years I’ve had my share of days where there were serious concerns about the future. We’ve survived massive consolidation and ever-changing regulatory requirements, SEO guidelines and Google algorithms. There have been enough scandals, controversies and bans to fill a season’s worth of soap operas, and the advancement of technology has been both remarkable and scary at the same time. As challenging as the last 13 years have been, the end result of our work has been equally, if not even more, rewarding. I can’t conceive of what it would have been like without being entrenched in the GPWA community, lean- ing on the many friends we have made since taking the helm back in 2007. Having said that, the 45 th issue of our magazine is a perfect reflection of what the GPWA strives to be. The following pages are filled with valuable iGaming affiliate advice, including our cover story by industry stalwart Lee-Ann Johnstone, who reveals her three “secrets” to success. Also, we have a first-time submission from1710Gam- ing’s Christina Thakor-Rankin about attracting and engaging Generation Z, while SEO whiz Nick Garner returns to explain the potential of an up-and-coming iGaming market. We also present our usual departments, such as a GPWA Forum about SEO strategies, a photo gallery from iGB Live! and iGB Affiliate Amsterdam, another batch of rankings from iGamingDirectory.com, and a new series of affiliate and affiliate manager interviews. This magazine will be distributed in Portugal at the Lisbon Affiliate Conference (16-19 Octo- ber) and inMalta at SiGMA (27-29 November). The smiling faces of the GPWA will be at both events, so please stop by our stand and catch up or introduce yourself if you plan to be there. Finally, we remind you that a subscription to the GPWA Times Magazine is free – yes, FREE. To make sure you don’t miss another issue, simply visit GPWAtimes.org/subscribe/ to register.
