Engage Fans. the Monetize Moment. or decades, the classic online affiliate playbook was simple: publish a pre-game preview, add a static banner featuring a generic welcome bonus, and wait for Google to drop new users on your doorstep. But between Google’s site reputation abuse crackdowns, better known across our industry as the parasite SEO purge, and AI Overviews answering queries before anyone clicks through, that playbook is long gone. Affiliates who built businesses entirely around ranking pre-game previews on Google are watching their funnel dry up. That leaves two options. Fight for organic traffic that keeps getting scarcer and more expensive, or take far more value from the visitors you already have. This piece is about the latter.
