For this issue's Affiliate Interview Series, we sit down with two solo affiliates who arrived in iGaming from somewhere else entirely. Waleska Hernández (“NoDepositCasinos”) started out ghostwriting in Bogotá and has posted more than 1,200 times on the GPWA forums behind a Doctor Strange avatar, which left plenty of members assuming she was a man. Tamás Horváth (“Cocktailspins SEO”) is a Hungarian carpenter's son who moved to Malta at 36 and named his site after the cold cocktail he always kept beside the slot machine. Both talk candidly about building alone, testing everything themselves, and why trust still has to be earned. GPWA AFFILIATE INTERVIEW SERIES Please tell us about your background — you grew up in Chía and now live in Bogotá. What did your path look like before iGaming, and how did a content writer in Colombia end up in the casino affiliate space? I often say that I have one foot in Chía and the other in Bogotá. I was born in Bogotá, but my family moved to Chía when I was one or two years old. I completed my schooling there before returning to Bogotá for university. While I was studying, I took on small transcription, writing, and proofreading jobs to earn some extra money (opportunities that are harder to imagine today with the rise of AI). Without realizing it at the time, those jobs were the first steps to what I am doing today. After graduating, the job offers I received came with very low salaries. So, even though at the time online work was widely looked down upon, I created profiles on some of the largest freelance platforms; shortly after, someone contacted me to work as a ghostwriter on an iGaming project, and the rest is history. You describe yourself first and foremost as a content writer. How does coming at this industry as a writer, rather than an SEO or a marketer, shape the way you build and run your sites?
