#29 Jokerman99 (PrivateMember) I'm old school andprefer e-mail too. I hatewhen an affiliate manager addsme out of the blue onSkype. It's the Skype equivalent of a cold call. Andnobody enjoys cold calls. “ ReplyWithQuote #33 tryme (Public Member) E-mail is definitely the best method, but I guess what the OP is really asking is, “How dowe get our affiliates to actually readwhat we're sending?” For me, this works: Use either your company name (e.g., Coral Connect Affiliates) or – if youmust – your own real name in the from line. The subject line “XYZ Affiliates Newsletter” always works for me in terms of gettingme to open the e-mail. It may sound lame as a subject line but it works because I'm intrigued enough to take a look in case there's something in the e-mail that would be useful or relevant tome. The other thing I like is having the actual newsletter as either a link or attachment. That way I can open it and save or bookmark it and don't have to keepmessing around looking inmy e-mail when I'm actually adding to or updatingmy websites. The final thing is to send the e-mail as close to the same time on the same day of every week, or every other week; the key thing is to get a schedule and stick to it. And as everyone else has already said, please giveme enough time to actually add a promotion if you include it! “ ReplyWithQuote #34 -Shay- (PrivateMember) Theword "important" is oh-so-very subjective. If I receive an e-mail that programs have dubbed "important" and I decide it is not, I will never open another "important" e-mail from your program. If there's a change in bonus offers, or something time sensitive, that is important. If you are tellingme everything is the same, then it is not "important." “ ReplyWithQuote #35 baldidiot (PrivateMember) Ideally the subject should be descriptive – so if you are changing your welcome bonus say so in the subject. Likewise if you have an offer youwant to pushmention it in the subject, e.g., “NewWelcome Bonus as of xxx'“or “Free In Play Bet on Arsenal v Liverpool.” I very rarely open/read "newsletter"-type e-mails as it is generally just full of bumpf. Shay alsomakes a good point about onlymarking important e-mail as important. “ ReplyWithQuote #46 whichbingo (Public Member) Think about when you send it. I DONOT understand AMs that send news out at 5 p.m. on a Friday. Usual response to getting it then? Hit the delete button. Thewhen is also important in relation to the event/promo itself. Too early and it won't be newsworthy. Too late and it won’t give us enough time to do it justice as a news story or to promote to our databases. Think also about whom you send it to. Larger affiliatesmay have one, twoor three different contacts for different reasons. Personally we have editorial staff, marketing staff and an advertising staff. We are not a “one size fits all” recipient. Again on thewho – you knowwhich affiliatesmake you themost money. How about you recognize this by telling them before the rest? A 24-hour head start on amajor promotionwould be a) appreciated and b) recognized by the story/promotion being given added exposure by your key partners. Keep the content relevant. As a bingo affiliate I really am not interested in your sports offer or your casino offer or your poker offer. I know it’s easier to lump it all into one e-mail and allow the affiliates to pick through it for their relevant bit but it doesn't smack of “personal client support,” does it? You could of course pop 10minutes up the road and hand deliver it to your favorite local bingo affiliate alongwith coffee and biscuits or a pizza... “ ReplyWithQuote 67
