GPWA Times Magazine - Issue 32 - June 2015

FROM THE GPWA FORUMS #22 RyanWeb (Public Member) Interesting to read everyone's stories! I had a few jobs in between, but my longest job was as a manager at a movie theater for about eight years. Between then and doing what I do now, I also worked at a call center (not for me) and kind of did an Uber thing before Uber was a thing (drove people off Craigslist anywhere in town for $20). A lot of return clients with DUIs or cars in the shop that were just trying to get to and from work. That was $40 a day per person and I built up about five regulars and then had random calls. Most people also tipped pretty well. Then I did tile for a while and other side jobs. Then I kind of just fell into this. I had a few websites that I had ranked previous to casinos, mostly hobby sites, a chatroom and a rap battle site (I was pretty young when I started, lol). Took the same techniques and applied them to my casino sites; almost seven years later I'm still here. “ Reply With Quote #23 ElaineGardiner (Sponsor Affiliate Program) Lots of interesting stories here. Before getting into the gambling industry I worked at McDonald’s for five years as a manager (while studying IT at college); for my last year before arriving in Malta I got my "McPassport" and moved to Spain to work at McDonald’s. “ Reply With Quote #24 Renee (Sponsor Affiliate Program) I worked at McDonald's (aka Maccas in Australia) for 4.5 years while I was in high school/start of uni too! I hate to say it, but I actually had a lot of fun there and sometimes I dream that I go back on weekends. I can't imagine being a 32-year-old behind the grill, but I wouldn't mind eating chicken nuggets all day for free. “ Reply With Quote #28 golfbettingsystem (Public Member) Free chicken nuggets?! Might have to start moonlighting “ Reply With Quote #21 muffincrumbs (Public Member) I designed and built slot machines and art installations in casinos in Atlantic City for a company that used to be a division of IGT. My designs and floor plans have won numerous awards, including two Best Booth awards at the World Gaming Expo in Las Vegas. One was 100 ft. x 100 ft. with $70,000 worth of rented palm trees, 50 models, a 30 ft. tall water feature with fog effects (that was fun to build), games, etc. Then my wife and I moved to the southwestern part of the U.S. and she managed restaurants, and I did the same and designed menus. After six years of managing, on a vacation in the Caribbean, I told her I would no longer work for anyone else and that I would teach myself marketing. Having a B.A. in theater and a B.S. in chemistry with a lot of post-graduate work, it was a no-brainer, LOL. After five stressful months of no sleep and hard research and study, I learned how to make websites and market them. I met some cool people here and on a couple of other forums and decided that this would be the best fit for me. “ Reply With Quote From the GPWA Forums
