And if it wasn’t because I haven’t received a warning, I would have thought it was some kind of penalty. But the more I think about it and the more feedback I get from you guys, among others, the more I think it’s a general quality issue based on 1) content, 2) back link profile and 3) lack of mobile responsiveness. Another thing: For the past three months, we’ve been running a pop-up/pop-under. Obviously not something Google would be fond of. Anyone have experience with getting lower rankings because of that? “ Reply With Quote #24 mla0712 Public Member Originally Posted by wonderpunter You are still number one for the main keyword. I just checked a few keywords and it looks like I’m still ranking for them in the U.S. “ Reply With Quote #19 mla0712 Public Member I’m trying to get our developer to check our logs to see if anything from our development could have caused it. “ Reply With Quote #25 John Anthony New Member It is very likely that this is a problem with inbound links. Your profile link is not natural, as you mentioned your forum has received a large number of links from Russia. The second possible problem is the Google algorithm update, but I do not think it would reflect such large downturns. Check the search panel even if you have not imposed any filter. “ Reply With Quote #20 wonderpunter Private Member I never use pop-ups, but it could also be that. Are your impressions still the same in WMT? And is it a lot of return traffic missing? Maybe visitors know you have annoying pop-ups and don’t click through; it’s the main reason I never click through answers.com. Or it could be a combo of different things that give you a low quality score. I have had various losses that all seem to be algorithm based, but I’ve always dug deep in and have always tried to improve everything that deep down I know shouldn’t be there or could be improved. Think like a visitor and not like an SEOer. “ Reply With Quote #21 wonderpunter Private Member Originally Posted by mla0712 I’m trying to get our developer to check out logs to see if anything from our development could have caused it.
