The meaning of “affiliate marketing.” While the definition above is spot on, as we all know, there is much, much more to being successful in this in- dustry than simply generating referrals and receiving a commission. It’s a complex equation with many variables, and one of the most important pieces of the puzzle is the relationship between affiliates and affiliate managers. Earlier this year, Connie Burstin, a longtime GPWA mem- ber and veteran affiliate manager, made a return to the gaming side of the business and took to the forums to ask a crucial question: What do affiliates look for in an affiliate manager? As usual, our membership wasn’t shy about providing answers. And the input wasn’t limited to just affiliates – a few of Connie’s fellow affiliate managers chimed in, as well.
