As good as most managers are, when it comes to late payments or non-payments, very few are transparent . . . “ Reply With Quote It’s important to have some sort of personal relationship with affiliates. Yes, it’s a business relationship and they are our business partners, but it’s not all about business , all the time. #5 Triple7 3 June 2017, 11:31 a.m. Public Member Good question! In my opinion: Be to the point and transparent: I don’t like affiliate managers making a lot of blah-blah, or asking a bunch of questions. Just tell us about which casino we’re talking instead of endless questions about what sites I have, how I drive traffic, etc. Be quick: I hate it when I get a message that a casino stopped accepting customers a week ago from country X, or that I have to find out myself that bonus offers or payment methods changed. Be realistic: I don’t even react anymore if affiliate managers from very average brands are pushy about demanding top positions. Top positions have to be earned. Affiliate managers should do their homework. For example, it makes no sense at all pushing for exposure at a Belgian website without a Belgium license. Don’t be pushy for more exposure if there’s no reason to do so. Be fair: Don’t come up with an offer and then not keep the offer, or lie about why payments are not made. I think most people see this as business, especially with affiliate managers moving from one program to another. A good program is a good program, but the wrong affiliate manager can destroy the picture. “ Reply With Quote #2 sweetbet 31 May 2017, 7:35 p.m. Public Member • Trustworthy • Easy to contact • Not pushy • Pays on time without excuses or trying to hold commissions hostage in return for more exposure or traffic “ Reply With Quote #3 Pokerface 31 May 2017, 10:36 p.m. Public Member Great question and glad you asked. I hate endless e-mails and questions. They should try to provide as much information or ask as many questions as possible upfront . . . Asking to be placed on the front page is always nice, but don’t expect it because it is usually earned and not paid for. When affiliates ask questions, a quick response is appreciated while the subject is hot. Don’t be too pushy or demanding. Affiliates are the customers. Answer questions and don’t just provide a link to the terms and conditions. I have already read them! As affiliates we want to help and promote, but it goes both ways . . . what can YOU do to help us to promote, other than just the basics? “ Reply With Quote 29 W W W . G P W A T I M E S . O R G
