FROM THE FORUMS #6 TravG 26 August 2017, 10:40 p.m. Private Member I used to never have the link open a new window because I myself am always weary when a website does that. However, after a few years and listening to a lot of other affiliates, I do now open a new window and I do believe it leads to more conversions. The reasoning, I guess, is if the visitor does not like the casino they clicked on and wants a different recommendation, your website is still open and the user can just go right back to your website rather than hitting the back button. (In some cases with affiliate links, the back button will not work.) I struggled with this decision for a long time, but all my links now open in a new window and I do believe that is best for conversions. “ Reply With Quote #5 vtyunby65 26 August 2017, 6:10 p.m. Private Member I have to say a user should be able to choose where he or she wants to open any links. Be it in a new window, a new incognito window or even in a new tab. It can be very distracting if you just suddenly click on a link and it opens a full-blown window so quickly right before your eyes. You get confused and you have lost where you were with your previous work that might not have even been saved and gets accidentally closed without you having the chance to save it, except if you have a regular backup plan in place. Also, sometimes I have noticed that the Google Chrome web browser will just suddenly crash when I open a new window or when I’m just innocently browsing through the web, and that ridiculous cursor will change into a blue-colored spinning circle. It makes my computer go crazy and starts to take up all of the CPU usage and you can actually hear the fans working harder and harder. I either have to restart the machine or shut it down. “ Reply With Quote A user should be able to choose when he or she wants to open any links . . .
