GPWA Times Magazine - Issue 8 - April 2009
| GPWA Times 61 need a few tequilas before hearing this story. I eventually landed in the offices of my first online gaming company – and so began my journey. I was whisked away to the Holy Land, and shortly afterward was sent on to Costa Rica to consult. I thought nothing would tear me from this para- dise until…Cupid shot me with his arrow. I always wondered what Portugal was like, and now it seems I need not wonder anymore: Porto will soon be home. Got to love my job, this is the life dreams are made of...And for those of you wondering I will most definitely not be heading for a Pitbull Exit. I’m having far too much fun here, and I think it’s safe to say these guys are stuck with me. Bring it on!! What do you like about working in the online gaming industry? I love the peo- ple I have met; I’ve really solidified some amazing friendships. And then of course it would have to be the constant chal- lenge, and being able to push my bound- aries and limitations. The excitement and travel give you that feeling of at times liv- ing on the edge and never knowing what’s waiting for you around the next corner. Definitely adds fuel to the fire… How do you see the industry evolving as we move through 2009? Well, as the years evolve so do technology, creativity, and trends…People are becoming more and more ambitious. However, some are seeking the primitive ways of the heart and trying to find some sort of absolu- tion and peace in this cesspool of mad- ness…There is a strengthening desire to test the boundaries and yet take a step back and appreciate the little things and find some solitude in knowing that there are still a lot of good guys out there want- ing to make an honest difference…I see this year to be one that I myself will never forget, and think we have the potential to make significant changes within this in- dustry provided we are not faced with any more legal hindrances… What single event or person has been the main influence on how you conduct your- self and do business as an affiliate man- ager? Wow…well, I would like to thank my mom and my dad “sniff sniff” lol. Seri- ously I can accredit my accomplishments to a number of people who have men- tored me so to speak from day one. They took me under their wing when I was still a spring chicken. I admire their drive and unfailing determination and I will always have the utmost respect for them. Of course my affiliates made it a dream job for me, too. I have been blessed all round, I think. What are three things that no one knows about you? HAHAHA Well, there is a reason no one knows these things about me. If youwere starring in amovie about your life, who would play your leading man? That would be my best friend, pillar of strength, and future husband, Ricardo Alves…the one person I trust with my life…I used to envision my life movie as something along the lines of “Scarface.” Who would have thought!?!
