The warning signs had already happened, and with continued sleep deprivation I went a bit nuts. But sadly, I didn’t listen to my body and continued working like a crazy person. Like yourself, getting out of bed was a chore. Showering and stuff like that was akin to running a marathon. I was burnt out to the max. That was about six years ago now. I’m still not 100%; doubt I ever will be again. These days I commit to about 15 hours a week. If I don’t finish something in that week, it goes on hold till the next one. Hitting that brick wall was a blessing in disguise. When I look at how hard some of my friends still work, and what they get in return for that effort, I look at the life I’ve got now and think, “Man, I’m on a pretty good wicket.” So, RacingJim, chill, buddy. Take it easy. Now is the time to look after No. 1, YOU! Give yourself some fun, tick adventures off your bucket list. You deserve it. “ Reply With Quote It’s better to have an efficient and effective working session of eight hours than to just sit behind your screen for 16 hours . I am more productive if I have a plan for the day than when I do not . #4 RacingJim 23 May 2018, 2:32 p.m. Public Member I once thought this, until two things happened to me: 1. I earned enough money that I was comfortable and didn’t really “need” more. That hurt my motivation badly. 2. I got really ill, for a number of reasons, which probably included working 12- to 14-hour days in front of a computer, getting really stressed and then going out partying really hard every few weeks. As a result, I felt like crap for a week trying to recover, while trying to keep the biz going. 3. As a result, the last two years have been really hard for me. I’ve been diagnosed with CFS/ME, but I’m trying to keep the business running while being on autopilot for the most part. No more 12-hour days. A four-hour day is a big shift for me now, as it hurts my brain too much. 4. Sorry for the download of woe, guys. I’m very slowly getting better now (I think), but motivation is HARD. “ Reply With Quote Originally Posted by Mattbar Earning money is quite a good motivator 41 G P W A t i m e s . o r g
