GPWA AFFILIATE INTERVIEW SERIES You have had an extensive career in the iGaming world, working for Ladbrokes Australia and bet365 for eight years and holding a number of different titles, such as VIP manager, trader and director of content. How did you get your start in the industry? I already was interested in gambling for a long time. I played online poker and liked slots a lot. Due to playing a lot of poker, I met many people from the industry as well and, because of this, I kind of rolled into the business. You eventually decided to launch Aus Casinos, a casino review platform in Australia. Why did you decide to go this route with your career? I wanted to have more freedom to enjoy life and do what I want whenever I want. This is only possible when you work for yourself, which is why I started working as a freelancer and eventually started my own website. Aus Casinos claims to offer a “unique approach” with a “team of experts” consisting of professional poker players, slot machine developers, personal financial and risk managers and other professionals from the iGaming industry “personally testing out different online casinos and creating reviews on our own experiences.” Please tell us more about this approach and how it is working out. We believe that the quality of the content on the site is the most important part. In order to deliver high-quality content, we make sure we really visit and test everything ourselves. As we are already familiar with the industry, we know exactly what parts we have to pay attention to. With this approach, we aim to really help people that are looking for online casinos or reviews for their sites. You were also a professional poker player at one point in your career. Did you make a full-time living as a poker player? How much does being a poker pro help you in your new role as an iGaming affiliate? It was a great time to be a poker player and even earn some money by just doing what’s super fun. For sure, it was very, very nice to make extra money, but it wasn’t enough to fully rely on, however.
