The CAC conference in Amsterdam is only six weeks away. NETeller moves to return U.S. funds NETeller has signed an agreement with the U.S. Attorney's Office which outlines the terms and timeline for which it will return funds to U.S. customers. Within 75 days, the company says it will announce its plan to distribute funds to U.S. customers. NETeller has also signed an agreement with Navigant Consulting Inc., to provide financial consulting and oversee the process of returning funds to U.S. customers. Sportingbet, Louisiana DA reach "amicable resolution" Six months after Sportingbet's former non-executive chairman Peter Dicks was arrested in New York, the company has agreed to pay $400,000 to have all charges dropped and outstanding arrest warrants cancelled. Nevada lawmakers to push for online betting study Two Nevada congressmen, hoping to regulate Internet gambling, are working on federal legislation that would require the National Academy of Sciences to conduct an 18-month study of online wagering. Democrat Shelley Berkley and Republican Jon Porter will co-sponsor the legislation, which is expected to be unveiled within weeks. Frank ponders UIGEA repeal Congressman Barney Frank (D-Mass.) is mulling an attempt to repeal the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. "It's still in the thinking stage," a Frank spokesperson said. EU rules against Denmark, Finland and Hungary The European Commission has requested that Denmark, Finland and Hungary change their laws to allow open competition in the sports betting market. The restrictions these nations have placed on betting within their borders are contrary to existing EU law, according to the Commission. |
