The GPWA's new search option
The GPWA is pleased to announce the addition of a new search function to help members find sites to promote. To use the new search facility, click on the Affiliate Programs top-navigation item. Members can then select the types of games they want available on the sites they promote, the language the site should support, the country from which the site should accept players, and the way members would like to be paid their affiliate-advertising fees.

GPWA Freeroll II
Due to the popularity of the first GPWA freeroll, we are pleased to announce a second poker tournament for GPWA members. Poker Host is sponsoring the freeroll on June 3 at 4 p.m. EST. Visit their site to download their software and register your screen name if you haven't already. Then post your screen name in the corresponding GPWA thread and we will send you a password.

Berkley offers bill on study of Web wagers
Rep. Shelley Berkley introduced a bill last week calling for a one-year study of online wagering. The Berkley bill has several co-sponsors including Rep. Barney Frank, who called it a perfect compliment to his recent legislative attempts.

eCOGRA launches review team
eCOGRA this week appointed a qualified review team to run their Total Gaming Transaction Review (TGTR), a continuous monitoring and data analysis process. Their objective is to confirm that online gambling venues are fair and consistent.

WTO clarification could have wide-ranging impact
The U.S. decision to clarify its World Trade Organization commitments to not include Internet gambling could have far-reaching effects. Joseph Kelly, professor of Business Law at Buffalo State, says the move opens a slippery slope.

WPT joins Cryptologic platform
The World Poker Tour is revamping their online poker offering, joining the powerful Cryptologic Network after struggling for more than a year on the WagerWorks Network. The new site is expected to launch in June.

Papua New Guinea sanctions online gaming
Papua New Guinea last week passed a gaming law which allows online gambling in a bid to boost the economy. The gaming law was passed by parliament and enables provinces to hold a casino license for 10 years.

I ask this question because in the last week I have noticed something...That something is raw links - regardless of anchor text. The following is fictitious in numbers and anchor text. For instance, My site: Raw links: 600, Anchor text: Joseph = 400 links. Their site: Raw links: 5000, Anchor text: Joseph = 300 links. Until last week, I beat them on the search term Joseph. However, this week I'm losing to EVERYONE who has even ONE more link than I do, anchor text Joseph or not. Is Google scraping anchor text and going with raw links?  read more
