New improved portal site directories
The GPWA is pleased to announce that we have made a number of improvements to the portal sites section of the GPWA Web site. Members can now sort the list of approved sites in order by how recently they were approved and their popularity according to Alexa. We've also added the date each individual site was added. To take a look, select the Approved Portals menu item under "Portal Sites."

In addition, we have made a variety of improvements to the directory of member portal sites. You can now search for member sites containing a particular string in either the site name or the site URL. And you can search for sites affiliated with all members or only private members. Plus we've added the ability to sort the list of sites found by either site name or by site popularity. To take a look, select the Member Portals menu item under "Portal Sites."

U.S. DOJ freezes Citadel funds
The U.S. Department of Justice seized $9.25 million in funds last week from Citadel Commerce, a third-party payment processor that had previously allowed U.S. financial transactions with Internet gambling companies. Citadel stopped accepting American transactions in January.

Canadian woman wins PokerStars' 10-billionth hand
A 19-year old Canadian woman, trying to get through her first year at Dalhousie University, won the 10-billionth hand dealt at PokerStars Saturday night, earning $100,000 in a $.01/$.02 No-Limit Texas Hold'em cash-game. The PokerStars regular plans to use the money to pay her tuition.

Fossilman eyes Libertarian VP bid
2004 World Series of Poker Main Event Champion Greg Raymer has been in contact with Libertarian Party officials and is seriously considering a vice presidential run in 2008. Famed Las Vegas sports-handicapper Wayne Allyn Root has named himself the early frontrunner for the ticket's top spot.

Casino City reporter Aaron Todd has made another trade in his quest to turn a sixty-cent check from PKR.com into a $10,000 World Series of Poker Main Event seat. He traded a signed ABA basketball for two pieces of a house legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix once called home.

PokerStars pledges $1 million for Dafur
PokerStars has pledged $1 million to the charity Not On Our Watch, whose mission is focusing global attention and resources to prevent mass atrocities. The charity was formed by Ocean's Thirteen stars George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle and producer Jerry Weintraub.

IntertopsPoker.com offers $10,000 match bonus

WPT introduces new hostess
World Poker Tour introduced Layla Kayleigh today, the new WPT hostess for Season VI. Layla will make her debut tonight at the Mirage Poker Showdown, kicking off the first Season VI final table. Kayleigh is the fourth WPT hostess, following Shana Hiatt, Courtney Friel and Sabina Gadecki.
