Pictures from the GPWA Cocktail Party in Montreal
GPWA cocktail partyThe GPWA would like to send out a big thank you to Carlo and GA Partners for sponsoring the GPWA Cocktail Party at CAC Montreal on Monday evening this week! It seemed like nearly everyone at the conference was there. And the feedback we received is that people enjoyed having a couple extra hours to socialize (the free drinks, cheese and fruit probably didn't hurt). Visit this thread to see pictures from the party.

Question-of-the-week
What percentage of your website traffic is from outside the United States?
The GPWA has gathered information about how much traffic to portal sites was from North American visitors in the second quarter of 2007 (43%) and how much traffic to actual online gaming sites was from North American visitors (15%). Clearly portal sites are, as a whole, not as strongly focused on attracting visitors outside the U.S. as online gaming sites. We all know the focus for the online gaming industry has moved from the U.S. to other countries, so we thought it would be interesting to ask GPWA members how much of their traffic is from the U.S. versus other countries. New Message Google and proxy hacking
tommydanger writes:
Apparently, Google sat on this information for a YEAR. And a top SEO expert was completely removed from Google SERPs. The 'band-aid' fix they have for a regular Webmaster is ridiculous. The only way to protect a site, if it is this bad, is to have a full-time company checking with Search Engine spider IP addresses. So the Crawl Wall (in ALPHA testing) may be the way to go. I wanted to bring this up this week because it is a serious issue. read more
