Affiliates need to know what binary options actually are. It's like roulette -- (you're betting on) up or down with a few extra add-ons like one touch and multiple trades. All platforms are selling it as "trade" but no trading actually takes place. It's the same as a casino. The house (casino), or in this case, the binary option platform website, makes money on the losses of the player/trader. No trade is done. No stocks and shares or commodities change hands.
