 British gamblers lost a record 12.6 billion pounds in a 12-month period ending September 2015, which is up from the previous year's total of 11.2 billion. Part of the reason for the increase was that this was the first time the Gambling Commission included statistics for online gamblers, who lost 3.6 billion pounds.
